Brompton World Championship 2025 in LONDON

I joined BWC2025 held on June 21, 2025 at Coal Drops Yard in London. Enjoy exciting footage of rear camera views, strong competitors pursuing and passing me with all the might.

The race, as a whole,  consists of 10 heats with 50 riders in each heat. Each heat consists of 5 laps around a 900m urban track in the shopping mall. For each heat, there is the traditional Le Mans style start, where we dash to unfold your Brompton and race around the track. Unfolding skill is very important in the race.

This year, each rider was provided with a time chip and the top 50 fastest from across all 10 heats then competed in final to determine the winners of the Brompton World Championships London 2025. One of the great improvements.

I have joined 5 BWC London in the past, 4 BWCs in the Mall and BWC2024 in Coal Drips Yard last year. In BWC2025, I ran for HEAT 10, the last qualifying group of 50 riders, starting at 1445. It was a fierce race!

BROMPTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2019 in London

On Saturday August 3, 2019, the 14th Brompton World Championship Final was held in Central London as a part of the Prudential Ride London.

In the morning of the day, approx. 30 friends from the world gathered in front of Brompton Junction London. Jenny, thanks for organizing this. All of us enjoyed the ride.

In the evening, not only riders to participate but also spectators came to The Mall to be a part of this great event for Bromptoneers.

The riders were fully dressed up and ready to run.

Though there was an accident in the previous race, we were all set in the positions on The Mall around 7:30 pm.

Three, two, one, GO!

The race continues until the fastest rider completed 17.2 km, eight laps of the circuit around St. James Park. However, an accident occurred at the end of the race to finish abruptly. Only 24 riders completed eight-lap run this year.

More pleasure than myself was that a cute BWC Japan winner won the third place among the female participants again. She has won the third place in the BWC 2017 and it is the second time. You are great!

I am happy to be a part of BWC Final again. Hope to win next ballot again to run for the 15th anniversary BWC in 2020!

TOKEN Titanium Bottom Bracket TK868 TBT

If you are going to be a part of BWC 2019, need more speed.

The best way is to train yourself, of course. However, you can get more speed for money.

TK868TBT is a JIS square taper bottom bracket, one of the lightest bottom brackets on the market with hollow axle made of titanium and with TOKEN ceramic TBT bearings. It is suitable for Brompton and a good investment for BWC2019.

It weighs 160 grams. It saves 120 grams over the original FAG square taper bottom bracket.

This BB is design to offer a worry free direct replacement to the original BB.

Brompton World Championship Final 2017 (BWC2017)

On Saturday July 29, 2017, the 12th Brompton World Championship Final was held in Central London as a part of the Prudential Ride London.

A lot of Bromptoneers came from all over the world for the race. In the morning of the day, approx. 30 friends from the world gathered in front of Brompton Junction London. Jenny, thanks for your plan.

Though it was rainy today, the riders were fully dressed up and ready to run.

At 19:10 pm, we were all set in the positions on the Mall.

Due to wet surface, riders were getting soaked and muddy.

The race continued until the fastest rider completed 17.2 km, eight laps of the circuit around St. James Park. After 30 minutes and seven laps – a lap behind the fastest rider – the chequered flag was waved for me and over. I was really worn out but was able to improve the result from last year. Good.

More pleasure than myself was that a cute japanese friend won the third place amongst the female participants in the BWC Final. Congratulations!

On this rainy but exciting summer day, I was luckily able to be a part of BWC Final again. It must be one of the culminations for my Brompton life to be memorized.

BWC 2016 in London

On Saturday July 30, 2016, the 11th Brompton World Championship race was held in Central London as a part of the Prudential RideLondon Cycling Festival.

More than 500 Bromptoneers coming from all over the world took a ride on a world famous route with iconic sights of London such as The Mall, St James’s Park and Horse Guards Parade. My Brompton S2L with a red saddle ran through the air at full throttle.

The riders were fashionable and certainly looked very proud of being a part of this premium event.

We were all relaxed and enjoyed chat in the hospitality area for hours. Time was already passed a quarter to seven. It was about time to assemble and to put a bike at each position to start.

Three, two, one, go, unfold, and start!

The riders rushed on the Mall straight toward Buckingham Palace.

Up! Up! Cutting through the air of Birdcage Walk along the St. James Park. But my feet were almost screaming.

The race finished. It is time to enjoy drinking with comrades.

Then we noticed that our fabulous friend was awarded in 3 consecutive years. What a great day! Congratulations!

Though my record was ordinary again, I wished to come back here to be a part of the BWC.

Place each Brompton at a designated position.

Three, two, one, GO! All in sudden we ran to own bikes, unfolded, and started.

Hundreds of Brompton bikes rushed  on The Mall toward Buckingham Palace at high speed.

What a fun!

All the riders came back to the home straight, The Mall, and continued a ride until the fastest rider completed 17.2 km, eight laps, of the course. After 30 minutes and seven laps – a lap behind the fastest rider – the chequered flag is waved for me, and it’s over.

My record was better than expected.

More pleasure than myself was that my friend visiting from Japan got the third place among the female participants. Congratulation!

On this wonderful summer day, I was luckily able to be a part of BWC2015. It must be one of the best days for my Brompton life to memorize.
